ILME 2008 FAMILY REUNION

Starting July 4, 2008 and running through July 6, 2008, Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida will be the site of the International Lutheran Marriage Encounter Family reunion. This beautiful campus and air-conditioned facilities will permit encountered couples from around the world to partake of several days of unrelenting fun and excitement. From the Gulf breezes to the reflective presentations to the uplifting music, Eckerd College is the place to be as America celebrates their independence day.

While fireworks will light up the night sky, perhaps you and your spouse can enjoy the quiet solitude available on campus and let the night sky light up the love between the two of you.

Family Reunion
July 4-6, 2008

This Reunion is being presented by the North American Region rather than a particular District or Area.  The overall Coordinators are David & Jean Fell.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all encountered couples to be blessed by:

  1. Fantastic music and worship,
  2. Programs based on the five tools that the Weekend gave us to keep our Relationship a Priority (attention to our communication, sexuality, prayer life, community, and constant-reevaluation),
  3. Dialogues,
  4. Small group open sharing,
  5. Meeting new members of the ILME “family” from around the world -- we hope – Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and USA.
  6. Catching up with encountered friends you may not have seen for years.

We are still looking for Districts, Areas, and individual couples to handle various aspects of this reunion.  If you are willing to step forward and assume a particular role, please contact either David & Jean Fell or Webmaster Kevin Guynn.

Come back often and see all the newly added information and links!

What is a Family Reunion?

As an International Community, the Lutheran Expression of Marriage Encounter has made the commitment to come together, share in the gifts we received on our weekend and continue to support one another in this journey of commitment made before God and His people. Every two years, the Lutheran Marriage Encounter Community offers all encountered couples an opportunity to share in the warmth, love and generosity of other encountered couples.

The location of the Family Reunion rotates from one location to another. In 2004, the Reunion was held at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2006, the reunion moved to Jyvaskala, Finland. In 2008, Florida with be the host state for the Reunion. It will be held on the ground of Eckerd College. At the conclusion of the reunion, the location of the 2010 Reunion will be announced.

The family reunion provides participants with the chance to share time with couples that value their marriage and that of others through the love that Jesus first showed to us.

Are there Activities for family members?

Marriage Encounter is one of the best gifts you can give your children, so why should the family reunion be any different? During the reunion, there will be time when adults and children are at separate activities; other times everyone is sharing in the fun together. The activities and programming are still in the planning stages, but know we want all family members to walk away for the reunion happy
